Blog Post # 14

I didn't get the methaphor that Tom Johnson was talking about until Dr. Strange brought it to my attention. I now understand what he was talking about, computers need to be intergrated into the class rooms, and I do agree with that observation he made. As teachers we need to be apart of the solution not the problem, let's not look to add to the problem by pointing out what's wrong, but instead be a positive out look to the situation.I use metaphors all the time in my every day conversation, but I just didn't think about it while I was reading the blog,Tom pointed out some good points and we as teachers need to get with the program and help the cause.http://isaacskids.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/metaphors.jpg

I explored the web site ALEX, and I found it to very helpful, it gives great information about lesson plans and how to make better use of them. When I first browsed the web site I just looked at all the different information that we can have access to. ALEX showed me how I can better myself as a teacher, by exploring all the web sites it has available. I also like how the site reenterate the importance of the missions that the web site holds every idea is used for the purpose of the welfare of the student. The web site shows information about standard tests and a lot more important facts as a future teacher we will use that will help create a good test. This program is based on helping students achieve the neccessary skills on a local and state level.Tthis web site gives full details on every thing a teacher will need to help  establish a good class room and lesson plans, I know I will benefit from the site as a future teacher.

C4T blog/ Summary

I read the blog from Jabiz, and he is a man with very intense words, and he takes his work very serious. I can tell he is a person who puts time and effort into what he wants to say, and I think that is great. He goes straight to the point with his comments, but with a sense of humor. I like his ideas of the connection we need with each other, and to have a open mind with others.

Jabiz's last post was an awesome to me. I liked how he adresses education in Africa, and especially the way he portarayed the country as a place where learing can be attained. I thought it was great how he chose different scenes and music that depicts the life of an average African American who has to work very hard to get a simple meal to eat. He also talks about The Daraja Acedemy, which I think was also a great idea to get education started in Africa. Jabiz talked about one of the students who name was Ester,I like tha fact that he showed me that even though education is not as demanding there as it is here, because the lack of money and educators it is still important in other countries. Ester  was a very bright student who wanted to learn even though it was dfficult. I hope that Jabiz gets all the support he needs to make this learning opportunity a reality for Ester because funding is greatly needed.
Jabiz is a teacher who is truly dedicated to teaching and educating others, he has so much passion for what he does and it shows through his work and his words.

First Graders in Ms. Cassidy's Class Today I watched an awesome video form Ms. Cassidy. I thought it was great how she got her class started with technology, and how she decided what would be best for her and her class, and then put it together to create various web sites that could be used in and outside of the class room to enhance their learning.

photo of nintendo DS

I think how I would implement technology in my class room like Ms. Cassidy, is to use different sources of technologies like the the nintendo d.s. It would give the students a break from learning, but in the same aspect while they are playing the game they will still be in engaged in the learning process. I would like to be able to also implement blogging in the class as an alternate method of teaching and learning while we are actually sitting in the class room. Ms. Cassidy also made another great point, that technology may not be as accessible as we like it to be.  That maybe due to lack of funding, but she was a teacher that was determined for her class to be a part of the technology world. The benefits of using technology in the class room will allow the students to broaden their creativity as well as allow them to expand their ways to apply what they have learned and use it even further out side of the class room. Ms. Cassidy was very thorough in gathering information before she made it accessible to her students. I hope to one day be able to think of ideas as she did that will help my class stay up to date with this ever so changing world of technology.

The Hair Style by J. McClung Mr. McClung made a great presentation on fundraiser for cancer, I believe he is a person that shows great compassion for what he is doing, and I think we as a person should be like Mr. McClung in one way or another, to sacrifice something of importance for such a worthy cause is awesome! even though this was a serious fundraiser he took and made it exciting and interesting and some times that is what it takes, you have to think outside the box as a teacher so that your students will be motivated to learn more. I think the best part for his students was when they could actually cut all of his hair off, some times we as teachers must make a sacrifice for one reason or another. Mr. McClung did one of the most awesome thing a person can do, but I hope his class in the reality of it became more educated about the fundraiser and what is stands for, not just all about the hair cut, students need to see that we are not just a teacher, but a person too, and that is what we want for our students to become as educated as possible in school as well as out of school. We all can learn from this teacher's , for he represents as a teacher and a person. Learn to Give!

Don't let them take the Pencils Home I read the blog from Tom and I agree with what he is saying, how can a pencil do harm to a child's education? children need to be able to do free style in a since, they need to be able to take a pencil home and do what ever. Hangman is just an example, but children use this to enhance their thinking skills as well as their vocabulary skills. Tom made a good point why not try and find a solution rather than adding to the problem. Educators are here to help not hurt so let's not forget the reason why we became educ

ators and teachers.

An open letter to educators I watched the video from Dan, and I agree with some of the comments he made about colleges, they are getting to the point where it is all about the professor and not the education itself. I am currently enrolled in a teaching class this semester, and we seldom open the text book, it's all on power points, and I feel that there needs to be some interaction between the professor and the class not just a whole lot of talking and note taking to memorize. Dan made another good point, when he said that if you don't keep up with todays world, then the world will live you behind, and I feel like that now with some of the classes I am currently enrolled in.
I also looked at some of Morgan's blogs she is a person with an in depth description of her self
I find her to be very interesting with her teaching styles and information, Morgan seem to have so much enthusiasm about her teaching and I think that is great.

The Goo Goo Goo vs Goo Goo Teacher Tom does the best blogs I have seen to this day, I have not read many blogs, but hisblogs make me want to continue to follow his work. I can't say enough about his creativity and artistic mind. Every blog gets better and better, you will never see read or see the same thing twice from Tom. The curriculum that the state uses there is one of the best I have seen, I wish all school curriculum could be like that of Tom's school system, because if so then our pre schoolers will more than ready for the classes that are to come.

Letter to Commander Kelly Micaela had a good idea when she suggested to write a letter to one of our astronaut to come visit their school and talk to them about his experiences as a astronaut. I think it is great when students have a creative imagination about doing experiments out side the normal class assignments, and show the class as a whole. I commented on Micaela's blog and told her I think that was a great idea and I hope that she get a response soon from commander Kelly. I feel that all students should be able to expand their imagination in a class room environment this is what education is all about, and that is learning.

Teaching and Learning from pre-schoolers I have never read such creativity from one person this teacher is so inspirational that you can't help but love what he as a teacher represents. I love the fact that he uses such imagination with his students, the fact that he lets the students use their on imagination and creativity he don't plan each day with just sitting in a class room doing the obvious, he goes a step beyond that, I truly love his creativity. The hair painting project You know teacher Tom I work with pre-schoolers as a teacher assistant, and we don't do any of the experiments you do on a daily basis. Our program is federally funded and that maybe the what makes a different about the curriculum. Again this a man that has no boundaries with his creativity, and where does on get such an imagination? I love how he gives each activity a theme and a purpose. Every thing he does has a meaning in way or another he gives great thought and planning before he starts his day. Teacher Tom gives a new meaning to the word "teacher"this is what teaching is all about. Learning to teach and teaching to learn. The paintings Again all I have to say is well done by teacher Tom, there's mot much more to elaborate on except Tom is an exceptional teacher. One day I hope I am able as a teacher to uplift my class room with such creativity. This is when you can truly see a pre-schooler at work with their imagination artist at work. This man is truly a teacher that has blessed us with some of the best ideas in and out of the class room setting.

blog post #9

What I Have Learned I really enjoyed reading Mr. McClung post about becoming a first time teacher. I am a first time teacher assistant and I'm loving it, but just like Mr. McClung stated, that you feel that you are being watched by your fellow co-workers and you then feel that you have to prove your self to others. Therefore as a teacher we lose perspective of why I choose this profession. Mr. McClung also stated that the only crowd we need to be aware of is that of the students. We as teachers need to stay focused on the prize, which is the success of the students whom you are teaching and their education. This is not an easy task because there are so many different personalities in one room, and as a teacher we must be aware of them all. There is no such thing as a perfect class even though you follow lesson plans on a day to day basis hoping that this will keep you on track, the class room environment, settings and the student interaction changes from day to day therefore we must become flexible in our teaching. ..We as teachers we must always stay positive and willing to listen. We must remember that students depend on us to teach and help them to learn, for me being a early childhood teacher I get a thrill when I feel that a child has learned something from me in class.
I am a person who is very afraid of computers and technology, but since I have been in enrolled in EDM310 class it has helped me tremendously about computers. Mr.McClung gave some good advice, he said just jump in and go with the flow, and it will come to you if you are willing to have an open mind. Again I enjoyed reading his blog, because every thing he said made since I truly believe that if we follow his advice we will become the better teacher we need to become.

Richard Miller This video was very in depth about what it will take for a teacher will need to prepare themselves for the ever changing world. I believe this video is one that needs to be viewed by everyone who is going into the education field. Mr. Miller is an awesome speaker with a very creative mind and I think that is very important when it comes to learning as well as teaching. What more can you say about this video when it says it all? We as educators need to always try and remember what was said on this video, because what he is teaching will always have a place in our educational system.
Learn to Change This video made some good points, but I feel that kids are not using their time outside of school to collect information with their free time, they are just fooling around with it. Kids today have access to any and every technology possible, but they are not using it solely for the right reasons. I do think that it is great to have technology at our reach as teachers and learners. We all need to learn to change with the changing technology on a daily basis so that when the time comes for us as a teacher we be able to adapt to what ever comes our way for as technology. The Secret powers of Time I have to be honest this video did not teach me much about nothing, it seems like he was just rambling about religion and so forth the presentation was not the best either, there's not much I can say about this video.
The Surprising Truth about What Motivates Us There are several things that motivate me and one of them is education. I do think that as a person we need to be motivated in one way or another, that is what help us to keep going. Motivation can be interpreted in many ways it just depends on the person who is trying to be motivated. I enjoyed this video it had more information that can be useful as a future educator. Do you know what motivates you into wanting to do something or get better at it? Motivation is word that needs to be used in the class room as a teacher as well as a learner. Let's keep the motivation and instill it in our children and see how far it will take them into the future.

Randy Pausch's Last lecture I watched the video and I am not to sure I get it. He talked about childhood dreams, what are child hood dreams? Are those the dream you had and hope to accomplish what you envisioned? The lecture was very interesting to hear and he makes a lot of good points, but is he saying that our dreams should inspire us to achieve and want more in life as we become adults? How do our dreams play a part in learning? How can we teach from that aspect?
the more I think about the video, the more questions I have. He explained some different teaching methods to try and help a person achieve their life dream, but how does this help in teaching others? Are you teaching them from experience of what you have accomplished? I get the point when he makes the statement, about the brick wall, If a person wants something bad enough, then you won't let that wall keep you from accomplishing what is important. The things you work the hardest for are the most rewarding ones, and I guess he was saying that it should make you feel good about those accomplishment.
Mr. Paush seem to be a very intelligent man who has a different outlook on teaching methods. I some what understand how his teaching will make a student want to learn by putting what a person dreams into a reality. This can only happen if you pursue and follow through with your aspirations. As dreamers we must realize nothing comes easy, and that is what he means when he talks about the brick wall.

Mr. Pausch talked about being a football player and how the coach used reverse strategy on him to get him to realize that everything is not black and white, or as they seem. He touched on a lot of good points on how you can make a dream a reality, but that only will determination. I believed that was what he was trying to get everyone to realize. The video was gain some what difficult for me to comment on, and my interpretation may not be what you were looking to read, but this is what I got from his lecture. We should do all we can do to get kids to be creative and high achievers in school and to get over that brick wall and fulfill your accomplishes as a child and as an adult. That is why education and teachers are so important, because a teacher plays abig part in helping children achieve their goals. He was a man that dedicated his life to showing others how to achieve what you wanted in life. He was truly an inspiring man who promoted education in many forms, and even though he has passed his dreams will live on.

The Networked Student I watched this video a few times trying to get a understanding of what he was saying about computers in the 21st century, and I'm not sure that I do, but I do know that by the 21st century we as teachers need to be able to teach from a computer. I guess the video is saying what this class edm310 is saying , that we need to be able to use other

means of communication that don't have to be on a face to face basis.
The video is really saying what we as teacher should already know when it comes to teaching. In my opinion I think that teachers will still be needed, because even though students will be learning on their own some what there will still be that one question that needs a personal answer. Teachers are still needed to teach students even though computers will probably be the future, the students have to begin learning some where so why not let it begin with the teacher.
The video asked the question am I ready? I say right now no I am not ready, but that's not to say I can't get ready and prepare myself for the networked student. To begin my preparation is to first learn the network myself and be fully assured that I can teach what the student need to know in order for them to be able to become a networked student. I know for myself it won't happen over night, but with time, practice and dedication I will be ready for the 21st century.
A 7th Grader Personal Learning Environment This video was really informative for myself she has taught me that everything we need about any type of information is a click of a button away. She made everything seem so easy to do and learn. Her PLE was to the point of almost perfect the way everything was in order from top to bottom. If anyone were to look at my PLN they would probably be in disbelief on my organization of information, but I can say that I learn a lot by watching this video, all it takes is a little creativity.
Critiques on Smartboards I read both critiques and they both have a good point, how does the smartboard help the teacher really? What it does in my opinion is allow the teacher to stand up in front of the class and play with a new gadget. The student don't really get much interaction from this method, because the teacher is only giving instructions or writing the next assignment down. The board to some aspect has the wrong name, what makes the board smart? The teacher actually does everything for the board, that which is created on the board is done by the teacher. I have personally used the smartboard while in the class room and I think a teacher's time could be spent more wisely by actually teaching the class. The teacher uses the board as a way to teach and ask student questions, but if you think about it how many times will the student actually even touch the board yet alone write out a problem on it. Students don't get to use this method of interaction even though is is designed for the student, because the teacher is afraid the student may do something wrong and mess the board up. That is why the board is useless, it wasn't designed with the students in mind, only the teacher in trying to
make teaching easier for them.

Kaplan College I watched the video on Kaplan college, and I don't see how they can offer a free education. I don't believe it is possible nothing is for free. There is a college in Mobile that say they offer free tuition for minority, but there are still expenses that will occur. Moreover, they say at Kaplan you can go for five weeks as a student on a trail basis, what happens after that? Do you pay for the time you spent in class? In my opinion there is always a catch to gimmicks like that and further more getting an education is not free.
What is an Podcast by Judy Scharf I understand what a podcast is but will it be beneficial in a class room setting? I don't think students will act responsibly while using the podcast. In my opinion students already have too many distractions when it comes to learning so let's put a limit on via internet. I am sure they could be used in a class room environment it just need to be monitored closely by the teachers.

Blog post#4

Don't Teach Your Kids This Stuff:Scott McLeod
I read the blog Mr. McLeod wrote, and I think he has a point our kids are learning about too much other stuff that does not have anything to do with a classroom setting. Let's think about it, our children spend most of the day chatting or on face book, what is that teaching them? I have a 13 year old daughter who had a cell phone, and I say had because all of her time was spent doing that, she was up late not getting the proper rest that she needed to function at school. Technology to a certain degree has a bad influence on todays children, and I feel like Mr. McLeod feels it needs to be a limit, and let's go back to paper and pen in the class rooms.
The iSchool Initiative
I watched the video on having a iSchool environment,he does have a point our schools are falling by the waste side, and we need to do something so that our future teachers and students will be able to continue their education. School fundings and budgets are being cut everyday, why is that so? The student was talking about using the iPhone as a learning utensil and I'm okay with that as long as the teachers are using the technology for the right reasons. I know as a society we need to grow, but where will it end? This student says that the iSchool will cut cost, but will it cut cost? to me technology isn't cheap someone has to keep the system up and running so where does that funding come from? We have to think about all the pros and cons of this new idea, and will it be worth it in the long run? Like I said before we need to find a way to keep our schools open at a cheaper cost, and this student's idea could be what we need to get on the right path to a better school. To some degree he does have a valid point with his idea, hey let's take a chance I don't think schools can get any worse than what they already are, schools are financially bankrupted anyway, maybe then we will have more jobs for our future teachers.
The Lost Generation
I watched the video on The lost Generation, and I feel the student made some good points. The generation of today do show some evidence of being uncaring about todays world. Statistics may show that to be true, but that can be changed we as a family will need to instill what is more important to our children. Every thing we have or do has a purpose in our lives and I don't think our future will be all about "me" society. Let's think about what she is saying aren't we all like that in some aspect, don't we sometimes feel like nothing is important? sure we do that's because of the type of society we live in now. To me there is no lost generation, maybe just mis guided. All of what she was saying in this video makes since, no one can say what one persons life may be like because of past statistics there are no two persons alike in this world so to say how one may feel or react does not give a person the right to say that's how everyone is. Let's give the children of the future the benefit that hey I'm not gonna follow that path of being an apathetic person.
Eric Whitacre's Vritual choir
Unbelievable is what I feel right now about this video. I am a person who don't use the internet much until I started this class but wow! the internet has progress in ways that I can't imagine, here is a man that put together a massive choir via internet without never stepping foot into a rehearsal studio, what he has done takes creativity and a world of knowledge about technology to put a master piece like this together. There's not much to say about this video except "Magnificent". Eric should be very pleased with this video and have it published across the world for his great work! Bravo!
Teaching in the 21st Century
Oh my goodness, after watching this video I feel as a future teacher If I don't grasp the concepts of technology,I won't be able to help my class to understand technology. The 21st century teachers are going to have to open their minds and hearts to learning technology. Technology is very challenging to me but, I am learning more and more each day. Teaching should be innovating and empowering.

Brent Laforce blog

I read his blog, but I didn't really get what he was saying or talking about so I'm not on how to respond to that. I do get some of the first blog about kids don't now anything, and I feel that's because they spend most of their time on texting, face book or internet. Kids don't really take the time to learn anymore.
The comment on the teacher do joint teaching i'm not sure on how to respond I need a little more information.

Comments for Teachers

I have read the blog form Martha Yim, and I am not sure if home schooling would be a choice for me. I think children need to be socially engaged with others. Children need to learn not just about education, but learn how to socially adapt to others. Public school to me teaches more that just about books and technology, it teaches children how to mature socially. If a child has been home schooled, then how will they learn about others, because as a parent that does home schooling there's no way a parent can teach their child on other subjects that are not related to education that does not come from a book, I feel children need to to be around other children, so they can grow socially, emotionally as well as physically and mentally. I'm not saying that home school is not a good choice, it just wouldn't be a choice for me. There are many factors why a child may need to be home schooled, and in that case I feel the parent needs to do whats best for that child. Their are pros and cons on both sides we as parents always want to do whats best for our child.

Blog Post #3

Gary Hayes
I sat and watch this video a few times, and I really don't have much of a response to it. The video showed me that we are in a world where technology plays an important in our daily lives. It also showed me that technology is growing at an enormous rate, and that the majority of people seem to enjoy the fast past of technology. That's to say, I guess we all need to get with the program and change also.

Karl Fisch: Is It Okay to Be A Technology Illiterate Teacher?
After reading Karl Fisch blog,I somewhat disagree with what he is saying. Let's go back a minute, how were teachers teaching before technology became so evolved? We were learning by teachers teaching us. I understand what he is saying but to say that someone needs to be replaced if they don't get with the "program", is pretty harsh. Teachers become teachers because they love to teach.
Todays children do love technology, but technology can't smile when a child has achieved a task and get a pat on the back or when that teacher feels happy when a child has come to them and say Oh I Got It", but don't get me wrong we do need technology in our schools, but not as to say if you can't cut it we will find someone who can. Technology is there to enhance our capability as a teacher but not to erase what we have learned thus far from our teachers.
In todays world technology has helped us progress, and we all need to know a little about technology, because questions do arise in the classroom and the only answer can be found on a computer, so to a certain degree we all need to be technology literate, in closing teaching and technology should work hand in hand.

It's Not About the Technology
I read the blog by Kelly Hines, and she makes a lot of since the thing we need to teach our children comes from learning and teaching. There must be that hands on teaching giving by the teacher, because in some cases a computer can't explain every thing to you. Just like now I'm typing on a laptop of course it corrects my spelling but can it go into great details of an explanation of why i spelled wrong? Todays children and teachers need to learn the basics learning and study skills. Today technology is important, but teaching is as important also.
I like what Ms. Hines said, teaching is a learning skill that never ends. I love working with children on a one on one aspect, it gives the child a chance to grasp what they are trying to learn. As a future educator I feel that it is important to teach with and without technology, if we stick to the basics and yet teach technology I believe we can have the best of both worlds.

Michael Wesch:A Vision of Students Today

This video shows me how education has become a part of the norm. There are these large class room settings, that to me have become too impersonal, I see all these students that are trying to learn, but it seems almost impossible to do. It's showing me how yesterdays teaching is trying to keep up with todays technology. Todays classes are more involved with other technology than classroom assignments, why do you think that is so?
Todays students are more interested with what they can learn about technology rather than their books. I feel that outside the classroom the student does spend most of their time doing something with some type of technology, so why not put what they know about technology and incorporate it in the class. I think it is true students don't listen to the teacher, instead they are texting their friend. This video showed me that classes have gotten to the point to becoming non-existence, on the college level. College students would rather spend time on a computer doing assignments on line rather in a long boring class.
This is why technology needs to become a part of all educators teaching the past, present and future,if we want to continue to keep up, because if we don't everything we have learned will become useless to us.

Comments 4 Teachers

This week I had to respond to Martha Yim's blog, and I understand what she is saying about how teachers and parents should connect.

Blog Post #2

Did You Know?
The statistics brought forth in this video is nothing short of alarming. It makes you say "wow", but not in an exciting elated kind of way. This is a wake up call to this "Great Nation" of ours. America the Great is on the brink of becoming" America the Late", America the leader will soon become "America the Lost".
Based on the information in this short video, the United States can not continue to hold it's place as a leader in technology. India and China's future leader will take their prospective rolls as Presidents and Policy makers of the new era. This new policy era will be one where the world stage will be influenced by decisions made by nations whom once looked up to America. Now it seems America will in stead of implementing change with technology will soon be one who follows those changes.
In the end we must close the Education gap. These statistics are unacceptable, we must by whatever means necessary have our leaders prepared to meet the challenges of an uncertain tomorrow. As quoted in the video "We are living in exponential times", because of this ever changing course that is growing literally by the second, we are bound by duty to take a proactive approach to embrace change.

Harnessing Students
My first response to the video, is that I know a lot of schools that are in the poverty area will probably never get the experience of learning about computers. It is also amazing and true that children have the capability of learning and also teaching the teacher. I agree with the teaching method, which allows a child to explore through what is known as the internet, I believe that teachers sometimes take children for granted about what the do.We have to give them a chance and let them discover and broaden their horizons by way of technology.
There were a lot of positive information on this video, which would seem very helpful in teaching a classroom. It is imperative that teachers employ every aspect of their teaching technique available to them. I'm currently enrolled in a class that involves a lot of time on the computer, and to me it's hard, and I don't grasp the concept very easily, but I have come to realize that computers have become a essential part of our lives and if I want to be successful then I need to better my skills in technology.
I feel in order for a child to adapt, to this changing world in technology they must possess some computers skills. Children of todays world will fall behind other nations if we do not adapt to the teaching methods of this modern age.

Mr. Winkle Wakes
This video makes me think back to when I was in school 20 years ago and the teaching methods compared to todays teaching has not changed much. The world is ever so changing and so is technology. We are living in age of technology, but yet primitive in our teaching methods. I understand that the basics are important in when it comes to teaching education, but how can we advance in our teaching when we won't allow ourselves to incorporate the world of technology into the classroom?
Technology is growing rapidly and it need to play a part in our schools. Just as in the video was showing we are falling into nonexistence when it comes to change. I feel that change is good in the aspect of growing technology. Since the world's future is becoming more evolved with technology, why not give our future teachers and students the opportunity to also evolve.
We as teachers of today and tomorrow have an obligation to the Education system to make the necessary adaptation in the teaching method, and that we all will be able to function in a technological world.

The Importance of Creativity
First of all I think that Sir Ken Robinson is without a doubt one of the most intelligent "Comedians" I have heard! But seriously I really enjoyed watching him. He has the ability to keep you interested throughout the entire presentation. This video had me to reflect back upon my daughter. Here is why my daughter is a dancer, I think back 12years ago when she initially expressed an interest in dancing, she is now 13. My first response was this is a phase and it will pass. Because of my daughter persistence she was giving the opportunity of showing her side of creativity.
Sir Ken Robinson video also had me think about how children can began learning as early as the age of three. The selling part rest in the fact, that the earlier you start teaching the better it is for the children. The video also describe as he stated that children are like sponges and the can absorb and learn far more than what we challenge them to do.We have to teach children that creativity is where it all begins, it gives the child the opportunity to explore and express their ideas.
I feel the same as this speaker does, as someone who is going into the teaching field, see the need to let a child be creative in their own way. Let us remember that everything a child intend to do or does begin with thinking process.

Cecilia Gault
According to the blog we can become more intelligent by traveling. I agree with Sir Robinson, that the curriculum has to change, he says there must be a balance between science and art. He also said that the schools and community should work more closely together.
I believe in order for us to have some of the Cecelia Gault in our classrooms to enjoy some of the same success of the Cecelia Gault in this video, we must adopt some of their methods of teaching and make them our own, not only that, I think that we must start holding our students and educators to a higher standard of success. It has been proven time and time again that if the bar is set higher then they will strive to accomplish more.
Sir Robinson said, that the definition of intelligence lies in diversity, with that being said let's not become tainted in our thinking, believing any of the three myths he spoke of. we should make a conscious effort to embrace our children's creativity as well their intellectual side ensuring that will grow and develop in both areas.
